MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Nodaway County Sheriff's Office says inmates are being transferred to neighboring counties after a fire in a men's jail cell.
According to a Facebook post, the Sheriff's Office says the fire was reported just before 8 p.m. Thursday. Maryville Fire quickly extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.
The jail is closed until further notice because of fire, smoke and water damage. The origin of the fire is being investigated.
